Designed in the 1950s as a simple, space-efficient and durable light attack aircraft, the design of the A-4 has changed dramatically over it's 60+ years of service with over a dozen nations and private operators; despite it's age, its distinct silhouette, beautifully simple lines, refusal of expensive trends and technologies and trusted reputation has remained.
 
Fielded largely by the U.S Navy & Marine Corps, the A-4 saw combat operations over South East Asia during the Vietnam conflict, while also seeing action in the Middle-East and in the South Atlantic.
 
It remains in active service - although in limited capacity and roles - with Militaries and Private Operators across the globe, with the latter flying the A-4 in Red Air and similar exercises. Even though their dominance in the Air has clearly faded away, if you ever talk to a current or previous combat-exercised A-4 pilot, you'll learn many a story of Heinamann's Hotrod evading and beating much more advanced adversaries in exercises and in combat.

Build '337' of VA-23 'Black Knights' in brick form, complete with the iconic 'Iron Hand' loadout used against SAM sites across South East Asia during the Vietnam War. Over 80 custom UV printed parts represent the various markings, dials, gauges and insignias across the aircraft, as well as a custom USN Attack Jet Pilot by The Brick Service© (images to come soon).
 
Each kit also comes with additional parts to add visible Zuni Rockets (for the already included LAU-10 rocket pod) as well as x2 Triple Ejector Racks with 3 Mark 81 Snakeyes each to sling under the inner pylons!
 
ADD-ON PACKS:
 
For fans of the USS Midway Museum, you can add-on the A-4F upgrades and scheme as flown on the USS Oriskany during VA-23's final days, complete with avionics hump and prints to convert it over to '301'!
 
Or add-on the VA-212 'Rampant Raiders' add-on pack and convert your VA-23 model into Rampant Raider '201'! The airframe depicted is famously shown with it's rudder blown off!
